Curiosity has a way
of becoming a project.
I’m Moosa. I build software, care a lot about the result, and occasionally turn a small inconvenience into an entire side project.
The keyboard is a good example. Typing started hurting my wrists, so I built a custom one. It was a very software-engineer response to the problem, but also a pretty good introduction to how my mind works.
I like understanding things well enough to change them. Sometimes that means making a product faster or a process less frustrating. Sometimes it means following an idea because I want to find out how it works.
I’ll spend a weekend creating a project to automate a 30-second to 5-minute task. As all software engineers do.
The kind of work I enjoy.
I like solving real problems with small teams. People who care about engineering, product, or design, and bring that care into the thing we’re making together.
I’m happiest when we can test an idea, learn something, and make the next decision. Long approval chains and unnecessary red tape take a lot of the energy out of that process for me.
Away from the screen.
I like lifting and MMA, and I follow Formula 1. I also have a soft spot for a fictional world you can properly get lost in.
A few favourites:
- Books: Red Rising and Harry Potter.
- Films: Dune, Avatar, and Harry Potter.
- Colours: Black and dark purple. The website may have given that away.
I make videos on YouTube too. Another way to make things and share what I’m figuring out.
I like caring a lot. About the work, about the details, and about making something good.
